Some people, especially young girls, think that without eating at all you will quickly shed pounds and become slim and pretty. In reality, this is the most dangerous way to lose weight that can lead to serious eating disorders. Many bodily processes will also slow down and many negative effects will appear such as dry and damaged skin and loss of hair. Prolonged starving can lead to psychological disorders, such as lack of motivation, anxiety and panic attacks. These can be lasting and are not worth losing a few pounds over. I tried starving myself last year to lose 10 pounds a week and fortunately I saw sense to stop before there was any lasting effect. After the first 3 days I’ve got headaches, I felt cold and had tingling sensations in both my hands and legs.
